Big Daddy's New Band is an eight piece band featuring a three piece horn section and female vocalist. The band consists of veteran musicians with many years of experience. A variety of dance music is played from the 60's through the 90's. There is heavy influence on horn based music including soul, rhythm and blues, blues, Motown, and powerful ballads. Music from female artists such as Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Debbie Davies, Bonnie Raitt, Janis Joplin, Pointer Sisters, Tracy Chapman and others are performed. Music from male artists such as Sam & Dave, Ray Charles, Joe Cocker, Van Morrison, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Delbert McClinton, Bobby "Blue" Bland, Stevie Wonder, James Brown, The Commadore's and others are featured. Big Daddy's New Band strives to make every function a fun time by playing music that will make you want to dance on every song! Dancing and crowd interaction in a professional manner is always our goal in making your event memorable! In the past 15 years, Big Daddy's New Band has headlined at many great events such as Riverbend Festival ('03, '05, '07) and Wild in the Winter in Chattanooga, TN; Buck Creek Festival in Helena, AL; Magnolia Festival, Gardendale, AL; Birmingham's City Stages in 05 and 08, Stokin' the Fire Barbeque Cook-Off at Sloss Furnace, WorkPlay, Ona's, and The Club, all in Birmingham, AL; Schooner's in Panama City, FL; AJ's Club Bimini in Destin, FL; Sandestin Hilton Resort in Sandestin, FL; Guntersville Yacht Club at Lake Guntersville, AL; and opened for Bobby "Blue" Bland and Bobby Rush at Wellingtson's Bistro in Birmingham, AL. Instruments include drums, bass, guitar, keyboards, tenor sax, trombone and trumpet. In addition to our female vocalist, three male members also sing.
